Arsenal scraped past Bournemouth with a 1-0 win at The Emirates.

In a day where the Gunners lacked creativity, many fans were questioning just why Mesut Ozil wasn’t selected for a game where he could have been so effective.

After the midweek win over Standard Liege, Emery took a major dig at Ozil by claiming Arsenal’s highest-paid player did not ‘deserve’ to be named as a substitute for the match.

The 30 year-old German was also left out of last Monday’s trip to Old Trafford.

It is understood that Ozil is neither ill or injured, and Emery has once again overlooked him for teammates Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka, and Dani Ceballos.

‘We are playing a lot of matches,’ Emery told Sky Sports before the game.

‘On Monday we played some players and on Thursday we played others, but really we were happy with those who played in each match.

‘Today we decided tactically [the best] eleven to impose our game plan. ‘But if I could change one player for another I would have the same confidence in that player.’

Gooners, does Ozil deserve more game time? Let us know in the comments…

  1. Ozil is the best player we have in that position u can't keep your best players on the bench because of personal issues with the coach
